Women of Color and Women Immigrants Will Suffer First

One wonders why all of the horrendous cuts to meaningful programs through federal actions are being done. Whom does it serve to do away with DEI programming? Yes, money is saved, but money would be saved by cutting any program. Who does it serve to not allow female victims of gang violence to claim asylum at the border? I see that these are political pawns, but to what end? WHY are they so valuable as pawns to some voters?
One thing is for sure. Women of color and women immigrants suffer first in this kind of political climate. Want proof? I can think of four agendas off the top of my head that have absolutely screwed the poor, people of color, and women immigrants. And who suffers first when the poor suffer? Women.
Here are the agendas that I can think of: 1) the Immigration Court ruling women who have suffered gender-based violence are not part of a particular social group, meaning that they cannot claim asylum; 2) the elimination of all federal DEI offices; 3) the recent SCOTUS decision that Medicaid does not have to accept Planned Parenthood services in its coverage; and 4) the targeting of U.S. cities by ICE.
The War on Women is alive and well in the Divided States of America.
